My name is TaQuilla King. I currently reside in Tampa, FL, originally from St. Louis, MO (and I’m proud). I was 42 when diagnosed with Stage IIB ER+, HER2-negative breast cancer. My journey of treatment consisted of 16 rounds of chemotherapy, doxorubicin (Red Devil) ,and Taxol. I had 16 rounds of radiation, a single mastectomy with 11 lymph nodes removed and a lymphedema bypass. I’m currently on Exemestane and Zoladex, currently pending additional preventative meds and DIEP flap reconstruction. Initially, when I was diagnosed, it felt like I was being robbed of so much all at once. I came to learn God sat me down because I would not sit down on my own. The process challenges me emotionally, physically, and mentally, but now, on the other side of this, I understand much better. “Sometimes God takes away something you never expected losing, but he will replace it with something you never imagined you could have.” ❤️
